Owning an helmet but not wearing it is no doubt a greater safety hazard

According to a witness wo was with the victim, they had just passed the Rua Joao Pedro Celestino, when a man wearing a turned baseball cap approached the victim who was on a bike, and started shooting, killing the victim with three shots in the head.

After the murder, the perpetrator fled the scene, most likely because he didn't want to be arrested: not sure though.
Anyway
Man with helmet = dead
Man with a baseball cap = alive, in the large and likely laughing his ass off right now.
Logic does not apply to everything.
