On Sunday morning, November 6, 2016, 24-year-old Roberto Cesar Pasquali killed his wife, young son and parents at a house in Joinville's Aventureiro district, Santa Catarina, Brazil, as the family prepared a barbecue. He used a .38 revolver and a barbecue knife, then stabbed himself and cut his own throat. The dead were his wife, Aline Pasquali; their son, Julio Cesar, reported as 3 or 4 years old; and his father, Nereu Cesar Pasquali. His mother, Clecy Aparecida Melle Pasquali, was hospitalized in grave condition and died early the following morning.

The victims were located in separate rooms. The family had relocated to Joinville from southwestern Parana around three months earlier. No motive was ever established, and neighbors said he had appeared to be acting normally minutes before the killings.

Depression doesn't make your other characters disappeared, it twists them. In this case, I presume this was a violent & selfish guy who gained guts but lost compassion from his new mental breakdown? Who knows what he was thinking...

As far as I believe, psychology is basically still a puzzle our modern medicine so far hasn't even been close to solve.
