An older man died after riding a 21-speed trekking bicycle into a rendered wall at speed in Central Europe. The death was reported as a suicide. He was said to have left a note expressing fear of worsening dementia. The bicycle was reportedly found in top gear on a 10 percent downhill gradient in a well-lit area, with no indication that he had braked.

The impact left blood spatter on the wall and caused comminuted fractures of the skull vault. The case was documented in a forensic report that included measurements from the scene, an examination of the bicycle and autopsy findings.
