The victim, 32, former inmate, known as "Ganinha", was sitting in the driveway of a friend's house when (to much of his surprise) two individuals on a motorcycle approached him asking if it was "Ganinha"; the victim confirmed. Then the attackers opened an envelope, pulled out a picture, made a quick comparison between the face in the photo and the one of the victim, and finally opened fire, killing the man with several shots. The victim was accused of participating in a robbery in 2005 along with two accomplices: he hijacked a bus eventually killing one of the passengers. The three assailants were arrested. One was killed in Chain Public Agrestina, and another was killed two years ago after leaving prison. The relatives believe that "Ganinha" also have been killed for the same reason as the others, ie retaliation for the death of the passenger.
Certaintly it's NOT a case of mistaken identity.
