On the night of 13th April 2013, in Caruaru, 36 year old Ariston Francisco Cruz was found dead.

Ariston was naked + had been stabbed to death inside his house. He had last been seen the night before, drinking at a bar with friends.

The house had been turned over.

27 year old João Anderson da Silva Soares confessed to the killing. It's reported that Ariston + João were in a relationship + Ariston 'kept him financially'. Apparently Ariston had undressed + wanted sex with João. João beat him + then took a knife + stabbed him around 15 times. After the murder, he had a shower, stole Ariston's phone + camera then fled.

It seems that it was strange that Ariston had left his car parked outside the garage as it caught the attention of the police. A bottle of alcohol + 3 glasses were found inside the car.

The pants + shoes worn by João, that had blood on them, were found at his house

Ariston was buried in the afternoon the day after he was found.
