dont like saying this but i think thats what they get for that not so good idea. imagine 90 meters antenna mast using those materials? 1.5 or 2" angle bars that doesnt look thick enough for the task and they designed the mast/tower with the same size from top to bottom? even 90 ft would require better structure than that.

He had on a fall protection harness, it is highly probable he was one of the men on the tower. He came down with it.

Generally towers such as this do not have a wider base that the rest of the structure. They rely on guy wires to keep sway to an absolute minimum. In fact many taller towers are mounted on a very small diameter "pivot point" to keep all the stress in a vertical line which the tower is designed to handle. My guess is that one of the guys broke due to torque exerted on it.
