If its an exit wound, that's a big ass bullet. I also don't think he would have fallen like that if he was shot from behind.

I will say there is enough doubt for speculation from a novice. There is none here for

Exit wound sizes are dependant on a multitude of conditions. Velocity at impact, bullet construction, bullet weight, friction, bone or meat, which dictates how much a bullet designed to upset or tumble will.

I can see nothing including a 12 gauge shotgun slug that would make an entrance wound like that. I'm open here for suggestions.
