Some of the people who do that have to, either because they're under threat or because they're in the need of money and that is one of few "safe" ways to transport it. They have to starv themself a few days before because of the stomach acid, so it doesnt burn through the ballons. If they do, then you're dead.

The drugs are usually rolled up in condoms. Latex is a natural substance, and vulnerable to acid. One way to spot a mule on an airplane is they're popping a lot of antacids. Some of them do it just for the ticket to the U.S. Come in on a tourist visa and stay. |
