I watched a special once about how people in this particular country (can't recall which country) would race to the place of death to collect the bodies and take them to the morgue. Something to do with earning brownie points toward whatever they believed was waiting for them in the next life. It was a real honor to the ones that were performing the service of taking the body, and it wasn't like they were doing it just to beat all the rest of the people coming out to the scene. They were very humble and respectful about the whole process.
