Re: Man Blows His Face Off With Fireworks

I found the answer to this when I worked at the Law School at the local university here. If they take someones pulse/blood pressure and state that their was none, there is little to no chance that the family of the deceased can sue whomever for not providing adequate care which THEN lead to the victim's demise. It seems like a funny thing to do, but it is quite effective at preventing frivolous lawsuits from being filed.
So shall it be said. So shall it be written

Re: Man Blows His Face Off With Fireworks

Just because the forebrain, and even the midbrain are gone, the hindbrain can keep going. If he's a registered organ donor, or even not one, if the hindbrain is intact and the rest of the body functional, there's no reason the body cannot be maintained until transported to the hospital for organ harvesting. Of course, doesn't always work out that way.

That said, it's also part of the process of declaring death completely and utterly. No patient is ever declared dead until all signs of death of confirmed, which is lack of breathing, lack of pulse, lack of electrical heart activity, lack of pupilliary/corneal reflex (which in this case is impossible to assess).

A man with two/thirds of his brain gone is dead or a carat. The ignorance to that fact amazes me. waste those fucking resources on turnip when you could relieve 4 lesser patience.
So hop on motherfucker you wanna argue this.

Re: Man Blows His Face Off With Fireworks

I guess they do have to check for vitals but damn, most of his brains is on the ground! And the pointers, not very good at their jobs but they are still pointing. good post, even if it is an older one.
