also, the cuts are made by the doctors, they do this always when somebody is burnt in a way that it will constrict the blood flow, and/or the expansion of the torso necessary to breathe. i had a case about this last week in university :P (i study medicine)

Faust...In your experience, would you rather die or survive such burns? I can't imagine the pain and scarring he will suffer...

What's weird is that his whole body looks burned to a crisp, except his forehead. And his hair is still there, which means that the top of his head wasn't burned... Maybe he fell into boiling liquid or something?
