Re: Maldivian Model Hangs Herself
We can never truly know what struggles another person goes through. She was absolutely beautiful. The harassment most pretty girls endure must have been heaped on her times ten. Obviously life for her was not as easy as we would all like to think. God rest her soul.

Re: Maldivian Model Hangs Herself
This girl's father is a batshit-crazy moron. Utterly deluded. He's started an entire campaign claiming that his daughter was 'murdered by Muslin extremists because she did not wear traditional Muslim garb' and that the hanging was staged. But because he is a prominent Maldivian doctor with wealth and clout, they're conducting an entire international investigation of this girl's suicide to appease his delusional refusal of acceptance. DESPITE that an entire panel of physicians all agreed on the autopsy results (suicide). DESPITE the fact that the ligature marks on her throat were consistent with a hanging noose, that her body exhibited all the signs of a hanging death, and the fact that there was urine all over the pillows directly beneath her hanging corpse. DESPITE the fact that she had a 90+minute text and phone conversation with her boyfriend (who was in another city) on the night of her death, wherein she expresses great dismay that he'd cheated on her and wherein she was clearly agitated and depressed. Her idiot father's response? "My daughter had a strong will and would not lose her nerve over a fight with her boyfriend. This is clearly murder staged as a suicide." Yeah, because Muslim extremists are well-known to hide their violent actions and mask them as suicides. That's totally their MO. Of course international media has been quick to jump on his ludicrous claims, with dozens of headlines stating that she was murdered by Muslim extremists. |

Re: Maldivian Model Hangs Herself
whenever somebody commits suicide, inevitably family members come out saying it wasnt suicide. my uncle shot and killed himself, and my parents swore it was accidental. its a coping mechanism imo... |

Re: Maldivian Model Hangs Herself
Yeah, I see it fairly often too. This guy's just taking an awful lot of people along for the ride and, of course, the media have also jumped on board to make a story. The headlines for this suicide in Brazil don't even speculate-they flat out state that she was brutally murdered by Muslim extremists because she was a Vogue model. |

Re: Maldivian Model Hangs Herself
Her jerkoff doctor daddy can't get his shit together at all. Yesterday he was blaming Muslim extremists. Today he's filed suit against her best friend, another young woman at the same college, claiming that she strangled her out of jealousy and staged the scene. I understand he is blinded by grief and all that, terrified of admitting that she killed herself and it was somehow his fault, but he's fucking with other peoples' lives and all for what? They put together an entire medical board for her postmortem. Three doctors and the police all agreed that it was a suicidal hanging. But not daddy, oh no. "I am viewing this case through the eyes of a doctor, not the eyes of a father, and I see murder all over it." |

To all you easily duped people who blindly agree with Indian police in their funny uniforms and our Curmudgeonly Moderator in his REALLY funny uniform; please read this article from The Sun tabloid and behold the truth: 'IT WAS NO SUICIDE’ Vogue cover girl Raudha Athif, 20, who ‘killed herself’ in Bangladesh was actually MURDERED by extremists for not wearing Islamic clothing, her family claims Raudha Athif, 20, a medical student at Islami Bank Medical College in Rajshahi city, was found dead in her dorm room Exclusive By Maryse Godden 6th April 2017, 9:36 am Updated: 7th April 2017, 11:10 am The family of the Maldivian model who was found dead in Bangladesh in a suspected suicide believe she was murdered by extremists in the country. Raudha Athif, 20, who was featured on the cover of Vogue India, was studying medicine at Islami Bank Medical College in Rajshahi, when she was reportedly found hanged in her dorm room on March 29. The superintendent at the hostel said that Raudha “always looked happy” and that it was “hard to believe she would commit suicide”. Raudha’s father, Mohammed Athif, a doctor, also expressed disbelief that it was a suicide. Speaking to The Sun Online, Rayyan said: “Raudha was a happy girl with a bright future and a promising career ahead of her. She was friendly, light-hearted and full of life. Her friends and family find it impossible to believe that she would take her own life. “There have been a series of murders in Bangladesh which have been staged to look like suicides and Islamic extremists have been suspected to be behind these atrocities.” The 18-year-old pictured with Raudha says his family members have no confidence in the investigation into her death Rayyan Athif 11 The 18-year-old pictured with Raudha says his family members have no confidence in the investigation into her death He believes Raudha, who was a Muslim, was targeted because she was a public figure who defended victims bullied over religious controversies. Rayyan said: “Raudha was a strong woman, she would not back down and stood up for herself and for others. It could have made extremists boil up inside with anger. “Her style of clothing was branded as ‘immodest’ and ‘un-Islamic’ even though she adhered to the dress code in the college premises by wearing a veil covering her face. “But she was criticised for wearing jeans and was repeatedly told she couldn’t wear it at the Muslim college - which has a lot of extremist connections and support. Other students have also been subjected to this type of bullying.” Rayyan also claims Raudha told the family someone mixed sleeping tablets in her drink just weeks before her death. Her friends and family find it impossible to believe that she would take her own life Raudha's brother, Rayyan An autopsy report, conducted by three doctors at Rajshahi Medical College Hospital, ruled Raudha’s death as suicide shortly after she was buried on Saturday. Her family have rejected it. Her brother Rayann claims: “In their first report, it said that there were strangulation marks, but they later dismissed it saying they were 'birthmarks'. But she does not have a birthmark on her neck. “We've seen her bruised body, her tightly-held fists and hand marks on her neck as if somebody strangled her. When we raised these issue with the police, they dismissed it.” Raudha's family claim this is the door of her room, pictured, which shows no signs of forced entry Rayyan Athif 11 Raudha's family claim this is the door of her room, pictured, which shows no signs of forced entry Vogue model Raudha Athif buried in Bangladesh after autopsy rules her death as 'suicide' According to police reports, students who discovered Raudha’s body broke into her room which was locked from the inside. But her family have disputed this, claiming there was no evidence of a forced entry. Rayann said: “We went inside Raudha’s room and checked the locks on the door - there was no sign of a break-in - no cracks, dents on the door. “Authorities said students banged on the door and the two locks of the door just slipped down but that’s not possible. We demonstrated it. We banged on the door and the locks didn’t move an inch. Frustrated and angry, Rayann told The Sun Online: “The possibility of tampering of evidence, illogical explanation of strangulation marks, delay of acquiring phone records, dissemble of crime scene, refusal to interrogate security, unexplained entry into her room following her death, apparent untouched and unaffected locks, and most importantly, failure to interrogate suspects make up for the overall incompetence of the investigation.” The young model was known as the 'Maldivian Girl With Aqua Blue Eyes' Raudha Athif /Facebook 11 The young model was known as the 'Maldivian Girl With Aqua Blue Eyes' The young model was known by family and friends as a happy person and find it hard to believe she would take her own life Just a week before Raudha’s death, police detained 29 men belonging to Chhatra Shibir - a student Islamist organisation - from her medical college hostel, according to local media. They also recovered Jihadi-related books and leaflets from their possessions, it has been reported. There is no indication to suggest the group - believed to be linked to a number of terrorist organisations - was connected to Raudha’s death. But Maldivian blogger Muju Naeem, who has written extensively about inconsistencies surrounding Raudda’s death and other similar cases, says “corruption in the system exists”. When asked why he believes there could be a cover-up, Muju told The Sun Online: “Because the system is run by extremists. It's a very simple answer. “I am being inundated with threats all the time for talking about it.” The activist, who fears for his life, says he's been living in self-exile at an undisclosed location after receiving death threats for writing about religious extremism and secularism.
