Re: Locomotive Engineer - Just "killed" My 9th "tresspasser"...
I have to agree 100%. These people think of no one but themselves. Not that I would ever have the guts to kill myself but even if I did, I would never consider it because of all the other people it would hurt.

Re: Locomotive Engineer - Just "killed" My 9th "tresspasser"...
I LOVE trains. I stop and watch them no matter where I am. I've walked miles of train tracks. I guess the fascination started when my dad used to put pennies on the tracks for the train to run over and then pick them up and punch holes in them for me to put on key rings. I am 30 now and I still love the trains. I wave at all the conductors. Then I read Anna Karenina and realized how insanely suicidal you'd have to be to step out in front of that big monster, coming down the line, blaring it's horn just for you. Do you honk at them???

Anybody remember the Amway track disaster in Mobile? That was horrible. I'm from Alabama and wanted to go down and see it but you can't really see it from the road. |

Re: Locomotive Engineer - Just "killed" My 9th "tresspasser"...
The engine leading that was a brand new P42 that amtrak got from GE. It was about a week old. There were 3 guys inside the cab, one was qualifying in the engine. The lead unit nosedived into the mud, resulting in the 3 guys in the cab to suffocate... Once again, RESPECT to train crews.
