Lineman Electrocuted on 11kV Line, Hand Severed: Karimganj, Assam 2018
At around 1:00 pm on June 27, 2018, an electrical utility worker was electrocuted after contacting an 11 kV line outside a school in Fakira Bazar (Fikirabazar), Karimganj district, Assam, India. The contact severed his hand. The incident was described as having occurred on a Wednesday, and June 27, 2018 was a Wednesday. Filenames from material saved through Facebook decode to June 29, 2018, two days after the event, which is consistent with the files having been obtained from Facebook shortly afterward. The reported name and age have not been established. The name was expressly presented as uncertain, and no independent source associates it with an electrocution in Karimganj. No news report about the incident has been found. Karimganj district became Sribhumi district following a 2024 renaming; when the electrocution occurred, and in coverage from that period, the district was known as Karimganj. |

Damn. Well, it IS a risky profession. You show up at work every morning, you don’t know if you’ll make it to lunch break let alone the end of your shift.
