Legless Corpse Found - Possible Suicide

In the late morning of this Wednesday, February 10, 2021, at around 11:00 am, military police from the 14th Battalion of the Military Police of Foz do Iguaçu were called in to move to an area of forest, which gives access to a new condominium on Rua Francisco Fogaça do Nascimento, in the Mata Verde neighborhood, still considered a rural area of the city, as a worker responsible for cleaning the area would have located the body of a person already in a state of putrefaction.

With the finding, the military activated the Civil Police (Homicide Police), Scientific Police (Criminalistics) and the Legal Medical Institute.

At the scene it was found that the victim was decomposing on the ground, where the head was beside the body and a rope tied to a tree, thus possibly indicating suicide, but only the Cadaveric Report in line with the Expert Report indicated the real cause of the death.

It was also found that the corpse did not have a leg, thus indicating that it had passed a surgical procedure in the past. Next to the body was a plastic bag with a document issued by the National Police of Paraguay, which indicated that the person named A V da S, 44 years old, resident of Bairro Porto Meira in Foz do Iguaçu, had been the victim of theft, where your personal documents were taken. Also next to the document was a radiograph in the name of "A" which indicated the absence of the lower limb.

The body was collected by IML for the procedures.
