Re: Left For Dead
It's a fun place to go and my son's grandparents live on Lake Shore Drive, and that particular area is amazing. I totally agree with you, the good parts are safe, but stay away from the bad!! About 30 some years ago my then 17 year old self, along with a few of my friends set out for a fun day in the Windy City, but for some reason we took the wrong exit at Stony Island. We ended up in some really scary area and within a short amount of time, our car was surrounded by several thug like guys, one holding a baseball bat and thumping it in his hand, while staring in at us. It was quite surreal and of course we thought we were going to die. So yeah, there are parts you do not want to venture into! |

Re: Left For Dead
I moved to the southside from Gary, IN a few years ago and the only dead body I've come across was a suicide in a high-end mall downtown. Too much negative hype. Don't owe anyone any favors and mind your own business and you're all good here.

Re: Left For Dead
It's not quite as rough as its reputation would suggest. But I've only been to the area once, for business matters, and I saw some sketchy sights. I wasn't in fear for my life, but I knew by the looks of the architecture, that the area has seen better days. I live near Little Rock, I should know what "sketchy" is. |
