Lailla Cristiane de Arruda, 19, was killed on May 31, 2018, in a rural area of Sonora, Mato Grosso do Sul, Brazil. Her decapitated body was found the following afternoon in a sugarcane field near the Corrego Confusao stream.

Prosecutors said members of the Primeiro Comando da Capital condemned Arruda through the faction's internal crime court because they accused her of association with the rival Comando Vermelho faction. Police said she had contacts with members of both groups and had passed information between them. The killers drove her to the rural site, bound her hands behind her back and forced her to kneel and repeat threats for a recording. A 17-year-old then repeatedly struck her neck with a machete until she was decapitated. The recording circulated afterward, but the killing itself was not shown.

Four people were arrested on June 1 and confessed, including two adults and two adolescents. Further arrests followed. In April 2022, nine men were convicted of triply-qualified homicide, criminal organization and corruption of minors. Their prison sentences totaled 257 years and eight months. The outcome of the juvenile proceedings against the 17-year-old was not established.

She was last seen in the company of 21 year old Rodrigo França, 24 year old Alexandro Silva Dos Santos + 2 teenagers (aged 15 + 17).

They admitted that the crime was due to criminal factional rivalry, since Lailla had contact with members of another criminal faction in the state of Mato Grosso.

Lailla was from Rondonopolis (MT) but was living in Sonora, where she worked as a program girl. Police found that before the crime, the girl had been threatened. She would be circulating between two factions and taking and bringing information from both.

All those involved will be indicted for double-qualified homicide.
