Kyrgyzstan - Young Woman Kidnapped + Murdered

Jealous Kyrgyz had a falling out with 27-year-old Aizada Kanatbekova, whom he wanted to marry. The desire of the lady herself did not bother him. Zamirbek Tenizbaev kidnapped her in the middle of the street, took her to a vacant lot and strangled her.

Then the villain cut open his neck with a clerical knife.

Now there are protests in Kyrgyzstan. People are demanding that the tradition of bride kidnapping be eradicated. This is the second death.
Residents of Bishkek gathered thousands of people against the kidnapping of "brides" after the murder of 26-year-old Aizada Kanatbekova

First, protesters gathered outside the Interior Ministry building, demanding the resignation of the police leadership. Having not received the expected reaction, the protesters, who numbered up to 500 people, marched to the Government House.
At the Government House, Prime Minister
Ulukbek Maripov came out to the protesters , promising that those responsible for the murder of the girl would be punished.

On the morning of April 5, in Bishkek, at the intersection of Tynystanov and Mederov streets, unknown persons abducted Aizada Kanatbekova, born in 1994. Three men forced her into a car and drove her away in an unknown direction. The body of the kidnapped girl was found on April 7. The body of the alleged kidnapper Zamirbek Tenizbayev was also found inside the car.

In order to fully investigate the actions of police officers on the abduction and murder of Aizada Kanatbekova, the Bishkek prosecutor's office registered a case under the article “negligence” with the ERPP.
Kyrgyzstan is shaken by the abduction and murder of 27-year-old Aizada Kanatbekova . On April 5, she was kidnapped in broad daylight in the very center of Bishkek: three men forced the girl into a car and drove away. Two days later, the car was found: it contained the body of Aizada and one of the abductors. Investigators believe that he strangled the girl and committed suicide after Aizada flatly refused to marry him.

Aizada was from the small town of Balykchi on Issyk-Kul: here she grew up on the street Өmur kөchү (the name is translated into Russian as "Caravan of life"). Here, next to her mother's house, she was buried.

Family, relatives and friends were incredibly proud of Aizada's successes: she entered the budget department of one of the best universities in Bishkek, and then, together with the student volleyball team, traveled to more than one country. Many of those who live in Balykchy say that they could not even imagine what a tragic fate awaits a young, beautiful and very talented girl.

“She was a very confident girl. We always turned to her for advice and support. She was the bravest of us,” says Ayana Baytemirova, Aizada’s friend. “She didn’t even have a boyfriend, because the most important thing for her was - help her mom. She loved this life so much and was in such a hurry to live. "

Aizada's mother Nazgul Shakenova says that besides her daughter, she had no one: no other children, no husband. There was no home of her own either: Aizada had dreamed all her life of making money and buying it for her mother. But mother and daughter were always together and never hid anything from each other.

Nazgul says that her daughter thought only about her career: she studied and worked at the same time. She took her university diploma a month ago and was going to go with it to work in Turkey: a ticket to Istanbul was bought from her the next week. But before leaving for the border, Aizada never lived: some time ago a man began to pursue her.

“My daughter said that when she was walking with her friends, this guy tracked her down. They met on the phone, but soon he began to follow her everywhere,” says Nazgul Shakenova. “Aizada said that he was probably a maniac. And I asked her stay away from him. But the guy said that he loved her and could not live without her. "

Friends and relatives say that the man somehow found out where Aizada works in Bishkek, and then the address of her apartment. He came to the city and began to chase the girl there as well.

“Once, when we were walking, he followed us in a car. I went up to him, opened the door and asked:“ Why are you pursuing us? ”He could not answer, - says Ayana Baitemirova. - Such situations were repeated more than once. But we didn’t go to the police, because they would most likely have ridiculed us there and said that it was the guys who were showing us so much attention. "

When the obsessive boyfriend actually kidnapped Aizada, the police laughed and told her family that they would soon be out at the wedding and that this was a routine bride kidnapping. The investigators, emphasizes the mother of Aizada, did not at all consider the kidnapping of her daughter a crime.

"They said:" Yes, you will walk at the wedding, matchmakers will come to you soon, you will see! "- Nazgul Shakenova, Aizada's mother, retells the conversation in the police.

" The investigator said: "Don't worry!" And he began to tell his story, which ended with a wedding, that they drank and walked there. The investigator's name was Ularbek, - says Baktygul Shakenova, Aizada Kanatbekova's aunt . - They themselves have never called us in two days! It was we who called the police again and again. And they said: "We are working."

“At the end I already shouted:“ We found everything for you, we uploaded the video to Instagram, gave the phone numbers from which the calls were made, they said the name of the kidnapper, they sent you his photos from Odnoklassniki! Are you going to look for her at all? "

The actions of the police, which did not make proper efforts to find Aizada, having in their hands a video of the abduction and all other materials, provoked the outrage of many residents of Kyrgyzstan. On April 8, rallies were held in Bishkek and Osh against violence against women and demanding the resignation of the leadership of the Ministry of Internal Affairs, which had failed the search operation.

“The law enforcement agencies had surveillance footage, the license plate and the car brand of the abductors, but they could not do anything to save the girl,” the initiators of the action said in the announcement of the action.

But neither the head of the Bishkek Internal Affairs Directorate, nor the head of the Ministry of Internal Affairs are going to retire so far: the minister said at a press conference on April 8 that he must first "bring this matter to an end." And the Prime Minister of Kyrgyzstan Ulugbek Maripov said that the case of Aizada is being investigated "under our supervision, under the supervision of the respected president," and the resignation of the Interior Ministry leadership, which is demanded by the protesters, "will also be considered."
There's an absolute ton on this, if anyone else wants to add to this thread, please feel free. Type her name into Google, FaceBook, VK etc... + you should find plenty. Her name in Russian may yield more results:
Айзадой Канатбековой

Hopefully someone will come across the photos without the watermark.

Ahaha, I didn't even notice that, how amusing! That's really weird that someone censored it!

Thank you!

Re: Kyrgyzstan - Young Woman Kidnapped + Murdered

This is a tradition in many remote areas, but usually much lighter, in that the bride will consent, the parents of the bride will consent, and the whole "kidnapping" is extensively planned out. Typically the guy will touch a club to the side of the girl's head, at which time she will "pass out" and he will bundle her over his shoulder and off they go. He takes her to his parents house, where they have a celebratory meal with a lot of her new relatives. His friends will act as the rearguard for the action, mostly ceremonially, because there is no real pursuit. I have never heard of a girl or guy getting killed in one of these events. I think it dates back to the middle ages when "brides" were "taken" in raids, but there must have been some miscommunication and he picked a girl who had no interest in him. Normally the kidnapping would not be arranged with the family, if the girl said no. It is not like an "arranged marriage" in India, where the parents decide, and the girl goes no matter what. (And maybe gets burned to death if her dowry is too small.)
I have heard of these "Bride Kidnappings" in the Amazon as well. But again they are pre-arranged, the bride and groom are in agreement, and no one gets killed that I have ever heard. Usually it is kids in different tribes who have known each other for years and like each other.
A little extreme reaction to simple rejection. Maybe she was planning on going to college.
His friends may have been misled by him about the girl's attitude, and may not have fully known what was going on. But when she said no, it should have stopped there. Now his friends are in big trouble because they thought everything was fine. I am sure they were stunned when the girl said no, and also when their friend started to kill her.

Yet, wow!, incredibly stupid as the theatre of the whole thing is, it's cultural idiosyncrasies like these that make the human race interesting to curious observers looking in from the outside. I'm glad to be merely an alien onlooker. Humans archetypically suck.

Re: Kyrgyzstan - Young Woman Kidnapped + Murdered

backwards tradition. In a handful of cases the kidnappings are consensual, especially in poorer communities where the practice was akin to eloping to save costs of a ceremony or hefty dowry.

A UNDP spokeswoman said data was scant on the number of women abducted each year because many women did not report the crime through fear but they estimate about 14 percent of women younger than 24 are still married through some form of coercion.

Kyrgyzstan toughened laws against bride kidnapping in 2013, making it punishable by up to 10 years in prison.

Maybe the kidnapper didn't want to spend time in prison after she told him to fuck off and then he decided to kill her, the maniac he was.
