At the bottom of this post lies a set of crime-scene and autopsy photographers from a female trooper's shooting death in Washington State, circa-1998.

Ronda's body was found in her closet in the Toledo, Washington home that she shared with her husband and stepson. She had sustained a GSW to the head, and had been staged to look like a suicide. Indeed, suicide was ruled as the official cause of death until' a coroner's inquest was conducted that implicated Ronda's husband Ron and stepson Jonathan.

Toledo was a small and tight-knit community at the time, and a stone's throw away from Olympia (where allegedly a young woman was shot to death by her drunken stepfather, in an eerily similar case that was posted here. Search for "Blown Away" to see what I'm talking about). Some residents of the sleepy community had long suspected Ron of having blood on his hands, but kept mum until' the inquest jury had finally ruled Ron and Jonathan guilty.

Ronda's murder was featured in the Ann Rule novel "In The Still Of The Night".
