I'd far rather go with my brains oozing messily from my
shattered skull than in a hospital for 3 years in an irreversible
coma, or in a nursing home, sitting, drooling, in 'Depends',
mindlessly watching 'The Jerry Springer Show" on an old tv
with the sound off, bullied and robbed by the staff.....(NOT that
most nursing home staff are like that)

Maybe he might have thought people would think think it was just meant to be a picture of him if he didn't direct your attention to the fragged head that happens to be in the picture with him.
