José de Jesús López Bautista Killed Wife and Daughters in Tecámac, 2018
Former Mexican Federal Police officer José de Jesús López Bautista killed his wife and their two daughters, ages 5 and 1, at their home in the Héroes de Tecámac housing development in Tecámac, Estado de México, on or about January 1, 2018. He stabbed his wife and asphyxiated the children before dismembering their bodies. Neighbors reported a fire on January 7, and López Bautista was detained at the scene while attempting to burn the remains. He was convicted of feminicide and the killings of the two children. On December 6, 2018, he was sentenced to life imprisonment and ordered to pay fines and reparations.      |
