Joe Kent Roberts, 74, Found Dead in Kampot Guesthouse, Apr. 2016
Joe Kent Roberts, a 74-year-old American from Texas, was found dead in room 908 of the Khemara Guesthouse in Kampot, Cambodia, at about 9:30 a.m. on April 1, 2016. Staff called police after noticing a smell from the room and realizing that Roberts had stopped leaving to buy food. He was found naked and face down. Forensic personnel estimated that he had been dead for two to three days. Roberts had rented the room since March 7 and owed about $180 in rent. Doctors and technical experts at the scene concluded that he died of natural causes. The cause was described in varying translations as a fainting or wind illness, or as heart disease. Police reported finding no evidence suggesting murder. Two weeks after the discovery, the U.S. Embassy had not directly notified Roberts's next of kin. It instead contacted a 70-year-old woman from his church, who was left to reach his son and brother. His son, Daniel Morgan Roberts, publicly sought information on April 15 and confirmed about a week later that he had contacted both the church member and the embassy. |

Thanks Lionh. I find them interesting. I usually have to dig about on a few site to get pics and a backstory. More often than not, images are censored and you have to cross check, so it can take a while. I'll keep posting as I find them. |
