Jewellery Shop Worker Stabbed to Death Yesterday
In Santo Domingo yesterday (15th June 2018), a woman was killed whilst at work. 36 year old Annerys Peña Perez, a mother of 3, was at work in a jewellery shop when a man, who was robbing the store, stabbed her to death. Annerys was buried today at 10am.      *UPDATE* Henry Daniel Lorenzo Ortiz was arrested this afternoon (17th June) at a hotel. Henry states that he killed Annerys as she had recognised him.     |

He didn’t have to murder her. I’m sure he’ll try to justify it by saying “but she’d seen my face”! Whatever. First, robbery is a much lesser offense than first degree murder. Plus, he had to know there were security cameras. When I worked nights at a liquor store I was always on alert, especially after the liquor store less than a mile away had a violent armned robbery. I was very fortunate.

Right, an update on the update! It turns out that the news article got it wrong + the murderer had not been shot dead by the police + that photo was not of him. I have now updated my main post with the correct info' + added 4 more photos. |

UPDATE On the afternoon of 21st May 2019, 'H' was sentenced to 30 years for the murder of 'A'. The ex-partner of 'H' was called to the witness stand. She stated that after the crime, 'H' had given her RD$10 thousand + a ring. She was baffled by it until the next day when she saw the news of Anneris' murder. She went to the police. Another person called to the witness stand was an owner of a grocery shop. 'H' came to him + gave him RD$7 thousand that he had owed him. Henry also loaned the man 20 thousand pesos. 'H' had also gone on a spending spree before being caught by the police.
