He actually has a point; not being able to find independent reports from (semi) reputable sources like newspapers is often a strong indicator that the story isn't true.

It's not fool-proof, but unless this murder took place a really long time ago, it's extremely unlikely that you wouldn't find articles on it.

I've even found articles on murders taking place way back in 1905.

Google can't find news stories that have never been put online and most older news stories are still on microfiche if they still exist at all.

This murder appears pretty much typical everyday homicide with nothing exceptionally grizzly or bizarre so I wouldn't expect it to have received much news coverage outside of the area it happened and possibly not a lot of coverage in that area especially if there was a plea bargain or simple trial and no capital punishment.

If anyone knows the exact date and location this is supposed to have happened we might be able to find the appropriate newspaper and see if there was a story on this.

Pictures don't really look posed either there is nothing exceptional/kinky to suggest an artistic posed gore-erotic shot and her pose is very legit eyes not really open and not really closed same with her hands. Her neck looks a bit swollen to me as well.

Most of the murder cases that ever happened in history would never get a chance to show up on any kinds of public media. You may find a case of 1905 somehow found a way made itself on a old article. But can you dig out all the murder cases of 1905 from old newspapers?

I'm not saying this story is 100% true. But cops aren't journalists. Police reports aren't newspapers or library books. I think it's pretty dumb even arrogant to deny the authenticity of a possible murder case like this just because we can't cross reference it on public newspapers or internet.
