Re: "It's Just Stress, Sir!"
If he had TB, they should have been able to tell from listening to his lungs and when they palpated his abdomen did he wince in pain? If he did, they should have realized something wasn't right. I don't know, I'm not a 'receptionist' either. And those post mortem pics look nasty. |

I don't know about the medical profession today. They seem too specialized for my taste. I spent some time in hospital recently. You see so many specialist that have differing opinions its no wonder nothing gets done.

Re: "It's Just Stress, Sir!"
My step father ended up in the hospital bleeding from the anus. The ER doctor was told. He did not tell the nurses nor the doctor who was in charge when he was checked into a room. He was checked in as having abdominal pains. He bled to death. In less than 6 hours. |

Re: "It's Just Stress, Sir!"
I'm surprised they wouldn't have done a CT of the abdomen. Abdominal pain is some of the hardest things to diagnose, mainly because there are so many diagnosis' to look at. It's also the #1 thing drug abusers complain of when they are trying to get IV pain medication. Given the fact he had TB leads me to believe this might be part of the background story..as drug abuser are more prone to TB due to lowered immune systems.. Not that this is what should have been done.. But my bet is this guy was probably what ER's like to call a "frequent flyer" comes in c/o abdominal pain, gets his IV pain meds and gets sent on his way. The receptionist, seeing him all the time, decided nope, not going to entertain that idea today. And told him to leave.. Sad that this actually happens all the time.. |
