Iraqi Victims of White Phosphorus, Fallujah, November 2004
Following the US-led recapture of Fallujah during the Second Battle of Fallujah in November 2004, these photos circulated. The US military initially denied that white phosphorus had been used against fighters in the city, but acknowledged its use on November 15, 2005, after the Italian documentary Fallujah, The Hidden Massacre aired. Before then, the US Army's Field Artillery journal had described "shake and bake" operations involving the munition. Civilian death estimates from the battle range from roughly 580 to 800. An image added in a reply is not of an Iraqi victim, but of a Palestinian teenager burned by white phosphorus in Gaza in 2009.  ·  · |

When I was a teenager a veteran came to my school who had been holding a phosphorous grenade when it went off. Needless to say, I have absolutely no idea what he was talking about as I couldn't stop looking at his face.

The brits or americans NEVER used phospherous in iraq! The first 2 pics are NOT burn victims. Pic 3 dryed in the sun! look at his shirt! theres NOT a burn on it! Pic 4 is sun dryed!
