Re: Iraq Militia Stone Youths to Death for "emo" Style
Fourteen Iraqi youths have reportedly been stoned or beaten to death in the last month for dressing "emo." Shiite militias in Baghdad have labeled the teen trend "Satanism," and Reuters reports leaflets have been distributed targeting specific teens and promising "We are the Brigades of Anger. We warn you, if you do not get back to sanity and the right path, you will be killed." The interior ministry denies there is any connection between the violence and the rise of the trendy style of dressing.

Total barbarians driven by religious fanaticism. While it is their nature and law to treat women like dogs, I guess it's OK to dictate to the children. No wonder they grow up so angry and screwed up in the head. |

Re: Iraq Militia Stone Youths to Death for "emo" Style
I can't believe people still judge kids by the way they dress. They're just trying to find themselves and see what they like. I guess I've seen so many trends in my lifetime, nothing really phases me anymore. I find the women completely covered in black from head to toe for religious reasons difficult to understand when it's hot weather! I'm thinking how sweaty, stinky, and plain uncomfortable they must be in there! I think it's time for a warm weather makeover.

insecurities within themselves. People are afraid of what they don't know. Imagine if they didn't have a religion to justify their constant slaughter of someone who is different |

Re: Iraq Militia Stone Youths to Death for "emo" Style
Youngsters in Iraq are being stoned to death for having haircuts and wearing clothes that emulate the ‘emo’ style popular among western teenagers. At least 14 youths have been killed in the capital Baghdad in the past three weeks in what appears to be a campaign by Shia militants. Militants in Shia neighbourhoods, where the stonings have taken place, circulated lists yesterday naming more youths targeted to be killed if they do not change the way they dress. |
