Is there something wrong with this picture? Why are they smiling when they know a dead human is inside that animal? Far more often than not, when an crock or an alligator eats a human, usually that person is already dead from other reasons. These animals are scavengers, too. It is EXTREMELY rare for one of these reptiles to attack and eat a living, breathing adult.

It is rare, but it does happen. If you get too close, or if they are in serious hunger, you will indeed be considered food, and they will chase you down and eat your ass.
