Inner Depravity Staged Horror Photos in Montreal: No One Was Killed
Montreal special-effects artist Remy Couture, who was acquitted on December 21, 2012, in a criminal case over his work, created these staged horror photographs for his Inner Depravity project in the mid-2000s. The scene used fake blood, latex and silicone prosthetics, and the unnamed performer was a willing actress who was not harmed. The images prompted an Interpol tip after Austrian police initially believed they depicted real killings. Montreal police and prosecutors later accepted that the scenes were staged. Couture was tried on three counts of corrupting morals, but the jury found that his work had artistic merit and acquitted him. |
