Influencer Murdered at Her House; Husband and His Father Arrested
Santa Luzia, Maranhão, Brazil A 27-year-old influencer, Adriana Oliveira, was shot dead inside her house. Adriana's husband, 37-year-old Valdiley Paixão Campos, and Valdiley's father, Antônio Silva Campos, were arrested on suspicion of involvement in Adriana's death. Valdiley told police that a man had arrived at their property on a motorcycle and demanded payment for an alleged debt that Adriana had, before shooting her dead. However, interviews with neighbours, and surveillance cameras, did not provide any evidence of motorcycles passing by in the area at the time of Adriana's death. Shortly before being shot dead, Adriana sent an audio message to her friend, saying she was being followed by Antônio and felt unsafe, to the point where she had locked herself in her room. She warned that, if anything happened to her, it would be the doing of Antônio. This is not Antônio's first arrest in relation to a murder. In 2012, he and another son of his was accused, along with another criminal, of murdering a farmer with blows to the head by an axe. He was convicted of homicide and illegal possession of a weapon, and was released at an unknown time.        |
