Re: Indy/Formula One: Fatal and Non Fatal Crash Photos (Stop Motion, Color, B&W)
The 1939 Indianapolis 500, Bob Swanson was involved in the accident that killed defending champion Floyd Roberts. Thrown from his car when Roberts hit him, Swanson lay unconscious on the track as the car overturned and caught fire. His lucky escape proved to be only a temporary reprieve, as he was killed a year later while attempting to qualify for a midget car race.

Re: Indy/Formula One: Fatal and Non Fatal Crash Photos (Stop Motion, Color, B&W)
A selection of Indy 500 crashes... The first is Al Gordon in 1936, he suffered slight bruising. The second is Al Unser Snr in his Parnelli in 1977. The third is Tom Sneva at the first turn in 1987. The fourth is a picture of the in-field around the 1944/45 period. Just shows how safety has changed during the years. |

I remember SEEING it on ESPN the next day, but have desperately tried to find it ANYWHERE on the net, and have NEVER found anything! I'll never forget them showing his helmet rolling down the track... Was a HUGE fan of him!

Re: Indy/Formula One: Fatal and Non Fatal Crash Photos (Stop Motion, Color, B&W)
Did you download the rare Vogler video that was sent to me? If you have not, go back a few pages and do so Not that it will get taken down on DR but I want everybody who has been looking for that video to have a hard copy of it on their computer The quality of the video on the JW player is the same quality of the version that was sent to me, so in most cases (as with this one) its 1000x easier to just download it This is not just directed at Jeremycrpnter, but all DR members It was always my goal to provide videos/pictures to any fan that could not find it online or elsewhere So please download away, just dont re-post it on Youtube or another website Thats all I ask Lets keep it all here on DR to get Chris some traffic or new members |

I know it is, sometimes dyslexia rears its ugly head at me Im sure half the time I type Volger instead of Vogler Just ignore my short comings Edit: And when im saying his name out loud, I always pronounce it the correct way "Vo-Gler", never ever will you hear me pronounce it like "Vulgar" Just in case anybody was hearing my voice when reading my posts |
