Re: Indy/Formula One: Fatal and Non Fatal Crash Photos (Stop Motion, Color, B&W)
Here is a great piece about the finish of the 1989 Indy 500 I know I posted a video already, but when I watched this and listened to Al Jr talk about the race, I found a new respect for Emmerson (who I hated after this race because I thought he crashed Jr out on purpose), and for Al Jr (who I already liked and was screaming for to overtake Emmo and then to hold him off the last however many laps) both super classy guys Again this was the first Indy 500 I attended, and let me tell you what a great year it was to be your first time at IMS One of my favorite IMS Centennial Moments clips |

Melvin Eugene "Tony" Bettenhausen, Sr. Multiple Midget Car Champion, Indycar Champion 1951 (AAA) & 1958 (USAC) and a second place at the 1955 Indy 500. Bettenhausen was killed while testing a Stearly Motor Freight Special vehicle for friend Paul Russo. A bolt came out of the suspension causing the car to roll along the barrier destroying the fencing and starting a fire. |

Bob Harkey's crash at Indy in 1983. His car touched Mike Mosleys at around 180 mph and slid along the wall for 1000ft. Bob suffered a broken neck and collarbone, rib and arm fractures and bruised lungs. |

Exceedingly rare video of Derek Dailys crash at Detroit in 1984 The rarity of this video leaves me at a loss for words And me at a loss for words is about the rarest thing in the world |

Original recording of Derek Dailys 1984 CART crash in Detroit The crash is not shown, however it does show the aftermath and Dr Steve Olvey in action (a man who I respect a great deal and whos book is one of the best written on racing and by far the best written or racing accidents) |
