Re: Indy/Formula One: Fatal and Non Fatal Crash Photos (Stop Motion, Color, B&W)
Chris Needell made his debut in the UK Formula First Championship in quite a spectacular way... he broke his right arm, but was lucky not to have worse injuries.

Fantastic photos of Nicolas Leboissetier's huge crash at the F3000 race at the French street curcuit of Pau in 1994, he walked away with minor bruising.

Race 2 of the 1982 F2 Championship round at Spa and when it starts to rain Stefan Bellof in his Maurer (first two pictures) and Belgian Thierry Tassin (third photo) have major offs. Both manage to walk away...

The first Indy 500 that I can vividly remember watching with my father was in 1982 What a great year to get hooked on the Indy 500 as a young child Im going to post some clips about the amazing finish between my hero Gordon Johncock and another of my all time favorites Rick Mears, but first here is a great little clip from IMS Centennial Collection about the start of the 82 Indy 500 |

Re: Indy/Formula One: Fatal and Non Fatal Crash Photos (Stop Motion, Color, B&W)
Here is a clip of the finish to the 1982 Indy 500 as shown on ESPN Classic 10 or so years ago My favorite driver showing off the BEST defensive driving skills off all times This clip just shows the finish, as soon as I find my copy of the race I will post the last 10-15 laps that include Johncock holding off Mears the entire time driving in his rear view mirrors and both crucial pit stops where the STP crew of Johncock get him in and out faster then you can blink, while Mears crew fills his tank and he runs into rookie Herm Johnson As soon as I find it I will get to work on it Until then here is a nice taste to get you hungry |

Re: Indy/Formula One: Fatal and Non Fatal Crash Photos (Stop Motion, Color, B&W)
And the real deal This clip shows Johncock and Mears in the battle of their lives as well as both pit stops Enjoy it like I did as a young buck sitting next to my drunk dad on the couch who was screaming at Johncock to either hold Mears off, or die in the process I didnt know what my dad meant at the time But I know what he meant now |

Well, That. Was. Awesome! But we didn't get to see the pit stops. Incidentally, I can see how he's your favorite driver. I can even imagine the cool head needed to keep Mears at bay, like that. |
