Re: Indy/Formula One: Fatal and Non Fatal Crash Photos (Stop Motion, Color, B&W)
Alvin (et al), I hope you all don't get tired of us saying our "wows and thanks yous". I know I'm beating a dead horse, but this thread is one of the (if not THE) very best I've seen on here in the three years I've been a member. Each morning, when I get in from work, one of the first things I do is look for any updates. I've yet to be disappointed. I know you have plenty of beer offers already made, but if any of you guys are ever in east Tennessee, you can gladly add me to list of offers. |

Mike 'The bike' Hailwood's career ending shunt at the Nurburgring in 1974. Hailwood lost control of his McLaren M23 and suffered badly broken legs. Mike was a multiple motorcycle Champion and returned to his first love, winning the Isle of Man Senior TT in 1978/9. Mike tragically died in a road crash in 1981. |

Chris Amon, 'the best driver never to win a Grand Prix' touches John Surtee's Honda while battling for the lead at the Italian GP in 1968. Amon's Ferrari flys over the barrier and into the trees, luckily he walks away...

Re: Indy/Formula One: Fatal and Non Fatal Crash Photos (Stop Motion, Color, B&W)
More Derek Daly action, this time the Dutch GP 1980, his breaks fail as he approaches Tarzan bend, and again he walks away from a massive shunt. He wasn't so lucky in a huge crash at the Michigan raceway in 1984 in an Indycar race where he badly broke both legs. |

Re: Indy/Formula One: Fatal and Non Fatal Crash Photos (Stop Motion, Color, B&W)
Jochen Mass huge crash at the Austrian GP in 1980. The Arrows A3 suffered some sort of breakage and left the curcuit, rolling a number of times and ending up in a field. Mass suffered just a bruised neck and back. Jochen won the Spanish GP in 1975 and was a very accomplished Sports Car driver, winning Le Mans in 1989. |

Clay Regazzoni's career ending crash at the US GP at Long Beach 1980. Total break failure, a massive impact and terrible spinal injuries that left Regga in a wheelchair.

As Regazzoni's Ensign speed down the escape road with no way of stopping there was a parked Brabham which he ran into the back of at great speed...
