Lee Richardson is killed at a speedway meet in Wroclaw, Poland. He tagged another riders rear wheel and got pitched into the fence.

Does anyone happen to know the cause of death? A basal skull fracture, broken neck,or internal bleeding? I see his right leg is twisted around the wrong way(broken) in the picture and was wondering if possibly he nicked the femoral artery and bled internally. I was in a flattrack racing wreck and got a compound fracture of my left femur. After examination, my leg was three and a half inches shorter and the bottom half of my femur missed my femoral artery by less than a centimeter. Could of bled to death. Both broken ends of the femur also went completely through the thigh muscles. Love this thread and have gone through it completely three times over. Thank you guys for all the info  |
