Re: Indy/Formula One: Fatal and Non Fatal Crash Photos (Stop Motion, Color, B&W)
We've had a few photo's of Pat Bedard's huge crash at Indy 1984 but I dont think this exact one has been posted... Pat was a writer for Car and driver and took place in the '500 in '83 and '84, qualifying 17th and 19th. He suffered concussion and a broken jaw when his March-Buick hit the 4th wall hard on lap 55. |

A startline crash at the French GP 1974 at Dijon when James Hunt's Hesketh went off after contact between Carlos Reutemann and Tom Pryce. James would win the Dutch GP, Hesketh's first and last GP win the following year, before going to McLaren in '76 and pipping Niki Lauda to the Championship. |

Greg Weld spinning at Indy 1970 during what appears to be a practice session on the way to 28th on the grid in a 1968 Vollstedt-Ford. This was the only '500 that Greg would qualify for from 1965 to 1973. He retired on lap 12 with a damaged piston. Greg took part in 36 starts in the series from 1965 to '72, with 11 top ten finishes and a best result of 4th at Sacramento in 1970. |

Re: Indy/Formula One: Fatal and Non Fatal Crash Photos (Stop Motion, Color, B&W)
The ugliest F1 car ever.....? The Eifelland F1 team were from Germany and named after the owners caravan company. The car was based on a March 721 with a new body designed by Luigi Colani. The car had various issues with over-heating a lack of downforce, and the fact it just wasn't very quick. The best result for the one car team was 10th at Monaco for Rolf Stommelen. The team only lasted the one year in F1 (1972), eight races with two retirements before disapearing from the scene. |

They actually found a tire from his car 40+ years later, when they were clearing trees from the area of the crash. They couldn't find the tire and wheel, and gave up. lol True Story. I was just at Salem a cpl months ago, and we were talking about this.

Have you ever seen Drinan's crash in a midget from 1992??? WOW!!! Don't know how he survived. One of the most vicious dirt crashes I have EVER seen. There were also some really great photos of it that made Open Wheel Magazine, that my buddy's Gpa actually took. YouTube and google this...
