Re: Indy/Formula One: Fatal and Non Fatal Crash Photos (Stop Motion, Color, B&W)
Original post from page 65. A great photo of Mosley wiping out at Indy 1971, taking out Bobby Unser and then hitting the stationary car of Mark Donohue. Mike had 166 career starts in the USAC then Indycar Championships from 1967 to 1983 with 80 top ten finishes and 5 victories. His best result at the '500 was 3rd in 1979, his only finish in 15 starts. Mosley died in an off-road accident near Riverside in 1984, when he lost control of his vehicle and it crashed and caught fire. |

Re: Indy/Formula One: Fatal and Non Fatal Crash Photos (Stop Motion, Color, B&W)
Californian Ronnie Bucknum was picked from US sportcar obscurity by Honda to drive their debut RA271 F1 car in 1964. This is how his first race finished on lap 11 of the German GP at the fearsome Nurburgring. Ronnie took part in 11 races for Honda over the 1964 to 1966 seasons with a best finish of 5th at the Mexican GP 1965, before returning to the US and taking part in the USAC Indy car Championship. He raced there from 1967–1970 with 23 starts, with ten top 10 finishes and a win at Michigan in 1968. |

Re: Indy/Formula One: Fatal and Non Fatal Crash Photos (Stop Motion, Color, B&W)
A selection of black and whites from Tom Sneva's huge 1975 Indy 500 crash. Tom was attempting to lap Eldon Rasmussen when he ran over his left front wheel and was launched into the turn two wall and catch fencing. The car disintergrated and was surrounded in a brief fireball. Amazingly Sneva was not seriously injured, suffering minor burns. AK posted some great photos on page 4. |

A rare photo of the 1967 F1 Champion Denny Hulme jumping from his burning McLaren-Offy during practice for the Indy 500 in 1970. He suffered nasty burns to both of his hands that were heavily bandaged for weeks afterwards. Denny took part in the '500 in 1967, '68, 69 and '71. He finished 4th in his first two attempts and qualified 4th in 1971. |

Sam Posey's huge crash at Riverside in a F5000 race during 1969 in an Eagle. Sam started in Trans-Am racing and also took part in 13 USAC Indycar races in a period from 1969 to 1974, including the 1972 Indy 500, with eight top ten finishes with a best of third at the Kent road course in 1969. He finished third at Le Mans in 1971 and won the 1975 12 Hours of Sebring. Sam also took part in the 1971 and '72 US F1 Grand Prix races in a Surtees, finishing 12th in 1971. |

Re: Indy/Formula One: Fatal and Non Fatal Crash Photos (Stop Motion, Color, B&W)
This accident was the end of Argentinian racer Miguel Ángel Guerra's very brief F1 career. He failed to qualify for the first three GP's of 1981 with the Italian Osella team but managed 22nd on the grid at the fourth race at San Marino. Miguel was then taken out by Eliseo Salazar's March on the first lap and broke his wrist and ankle. He never raced in F1 again....
