Re: Indy/Formula One: Fatal and Non Fatal Crash Photos (Stop Motion, Color, B&W)
Two times F1 World Champion Graham Hill's massive crash during the US GP at Watkins Glen 1969. Graham had spun his Lotus 49 on oil and got out and push started the car but was unable to refasten his belts and when the rear tyre exploded he was thrown from the car badly breaking both legs. Hill made a recovery and went on to drive for Rob Walker and then Brabham with limited success before creating his own team. He won Le Mans in a Matra in 1972. Hill crashed his light aircraft with members of his race team on board, all losing their lifes in November 1975. |

Re: Indy/Formula One: Fatal and Non Fatal Crash Photos (Stop Motion, Color, B&W)
Marc Surer's heavy practice crash at the South African GP 1980 in his ATS broke both of his legs. Marc was seriously injured in a rally crash during the 1986 ADAC Hessen-Rallye in his Ford RS200 which killed his co-driver and friend Michel Wyder. Marc won the 1979 European Formula Two Championship and contested 88 races scoring 17 points with a best result of 4th at the Brazilian GP 1981, when he also took fastest lap. He was also lucky enough to have been married twice to previous Playboy models... |

From page 36. Great quality photo of the aftermath of the inferno... You can see from the amount of damage to the BRM just how lucky Clay was. |
