A rare photo of the Chilean Formula 3 Championship crash at Las Vizcachas circuit in Santiago 1987, when Sergio Santander and Gonzalo Alcalde crashed into the pit wall. Santander died and Alcalde escaped with minor injures after hitting wheels on the start finish straight.

Two times F1 World Champion Alberto Ascari's fatal testing crash in a Ferrari Sportscar at Monza on the 26th May 1955. Ascari died of multiple injuries after the car turned over and threw him out onto the track.

Nasif Moisés Estéfano participated in two World Championship Formula One Grands Prix, in 1960 and '62. He died in a local rally in Aimogasta on October 21st 1973. His car left the road at high speed somersaulting a number of times. Estéfano was thrown from the car due to a fault with the safety belts and was killed almost instantly due to head injuries.  ·  ·  ·  · |

Jean-Louis Dumont's fatal rally crash during the Rally Circuit des Ard in Belgium 1985. The Porsche 911 left the road at high speed inflicting fatal injuries to the Belgian driver.

Swedish driver Örjan Atterberg's fatal crash at the start of the Eläintarha Formula Junior race in Helsinki 1963. Atterberg hit another car at the start of the race and flipped over his vehicle before hitting a light post. The driver was trapped in he car for a time before being released and rushed to hospital.  ·  ·  ·  · |

Franco Patria's fatal accident during the 1964 1000 km de Paris at Montlhéry. He had contact with Peter Linden's Jaguar and both drivers crashed heavily and died as a result of their injuries, as did three marshalls. Pictures of Linden's Jaguar are posted earler in this thread.
