A photo of Didier Pironi's Ferrari after the terrible crash in practice for the German GP 1982. Its one that I haven't seen before but the shows the huge damage to the front end which nearly destroyed Didier's legs.

At the high speed section at Maison Blanche he put two wheels on the grass and lost control of the vehicle. Woolf's car hit the barrier, overturned and slid down the track upside down splitting into two parts. Due to the traditional run to the cars that took place at the time, John did not have his safety belts on. Woolfe had been thrown clear at the point of impact and his fuel tank was ripped off and ran over by Chris Amon's Ferrari.

Amon suffered minor burns, sadly Woolfe died instantly.

l would just like to that all that have contributed to this thread,
It has to be the best on any forum l have seen,

Some of the pics & vids are very sad,
Drivers that lost their lives whilst others stood, watched & didn't help are the worst,

l can understand the why & what fors in every incident except 1,
It was the Earnhart jr & Blaise Alexander incident,

To me it looks like a deliberate action by Earnhart,
Am l wrong?

Kerry got 'jumped' by Blaise in traffic, Kerry looked pissed for losing the lead late on ...can't disagree with your thoughts...

it wasnt Earnhardt Jr. it was Kerry Earnhardt.
