Re: Indy/Formula One: Fatal and Non Fatal Crash Photos (Stop Motion, Color, B&W)

Rare photo of Jean-Luc Salomon's fatal crash during a French Formula 3 Championship race at Rouen in 1970. During a huge battle for the lead four cars attempted to take the fast Virage de la Scierie side by side and touched, Salomon's car getting thrown over the barrier, landing upside down. The cars roll-over bar broke inflicting terrible head injuries to the driver who would lose his fight for life later the same day.

Re: Indy/Formula One: Fatal and Non Fatal Crash Photos (Stop Motion, Color, B&W)

I will just pump this thread full daily with the rest of my collection

Everytime a member opens the Death Pictures Section I will make sure our thread is the one on top

Im not really sure why it was un-stickied, I see no logic at all in doing so

My first guess would be the minuscule amount of views our thread has.

My second guess would be that all the pictures and videos are such horrible quality that regulating the thread to un-stickied land was the only possible choice

My third guess was the forum leaders had a meeting and said "Fuck it, we already took away Alvin's Edit Function and his ability to donate using Google, we might as well regulate his shitty ass thread on Motorsport Crashes to the thousands of garbage threads that clutter up the Death Pictures Section"

The site owner actually felt it had spent enough time as a sticky so removed it.
It's been a sticky for at least six months, a lot longer than any other sticky as threads do not remain stickies indefinitely so can't see why such the commotion. Stickies are mainly to keep fresh new content on the front page for longer so that most members get a chance to see it not for long standing threads.
If it's as popular as you state then it will always remain within the top pages of DR so there's no fuss.

Get off your high horse as no one took anything away from you nor the other threads in this section are garbage.
If you have any problems with payment, edit functions or what post should be stickied or not you can pm Chris about it.
Usally a sticky remains a sticky for a month or two.
Just like the dead women thread and the hanged women thread, they always pop up on the first page when updates are being posted so i see no problem why your thread wouldn't.
It's not like the world comes to an end.

Re: Indy/Formula One: Fatal and Non Fatal Crash Photos (Stop Motion, Color, B&W)

Bob Wente and Eddie Sachs come together at Trenton.

Eddie would sadly lose his live in the Indy 500 in 1964, while Bob took part in 11 USAC races with a best of 3rd. He witnessed the Sachs / MacDonald crash up close finishing 9th from 32nd on the grid. Wente is also second in the list of all-time USAC National Midget car winners.

Re: Indy/Formula One: Fatal and Non Fatal Crash Photos (Stop Motion, Color, B&W)

Mario Cipollo 'racing' the crazy little Iso Isetta with it's 234cc single cylinder engine, averaging 45 miles an hour and finishing 176th out of 182 during the 1954 Mille Miglia. Three of these cars were entered and although they took over 22 hours to finish they took the top three spots in the economy classification.
