Re: Indy/Formula One: Fatal and Non Fatal Crash Photos (Stop Motion, Color, B&W)
Paul Weel was struck side-on at 180kmh by the Team Kiwi Racing car of Chris Pither at Bathurst 2008. The horrific crash was on the same section where Mark Porter was killed in 2006. Paul said afterwards, 'I've seen a replay of the collision so I'm feeling pretty lucky, obviously there were two drivers who went by me who didn't hit me so I don't know what Chris was doing. But I suppose that's what can happen, unfortunately. I know he didn't do it on purpose or anything like that, no one intentionally does it, but you've got to be alert out there. You've got to know what you're doing otherwise you shouldn't be out there. It brings back not nice memories on that corner after what happened to Mark Porter . . . it makes it difficult.' Paul suffered a ruptured spleen and broken ribs. |

Re: Indy/Formula One: Fatal and Non Fatal Crash Photos (Stop Motion, Color, B&W)
Another big one at Bathurst, again 2008, but this time its former World Touring Car Cup winner Paul Radisich in qualifying. Radisich was cresting the top of the mountain when the throttle jammed. He bounced the Holden Dealer Team car off the wall in an effort to slow it down before smashing head first into the wall, breaking both his ankles and suffering significant injuries. He retired from racing after this huge crash. Paul won the 1993 and 1994 Touring Car World Cup events at Monza and at Donington respectively. 1993 was his first British Touring Car Championship season racing a Ford Mondeo prepared by touring car legend Andy Rouse. He finished 3rd in the series despite competing in only half the season. He would again drive for Andy Rouse in 1994 where he finished 3rd again. He finished second at Bathurst in 1990 and 2000. |

"Paul Weel was struck side-on at 180kmh by the Team Kiwi Racing car of Chris Pither at Bathurst 2008. The horrific crash was on the same section where Mark Porter was killed in 2006." I remember watching this accident on tv and it made me grit my teeth and saying out loud to myself " oh no, not another fatal accident in that spot" My mind instantly flashed back to the Porter crash in '06.. I could not believe that Weel got through that accident, it looked almost as bad as Porter's... |

Re: Indy/Formula One: Fatal and Non Fatal Crash Photos (Stop Motion, Color, B&W)
Roger Williamson and David Purley This is from a stock footage website Nothing new here except you get to see the fire marshal thats in full uniform kicking dirt onto Williamson in a pathetic attempt to help David Purley I know for a fact I would have acted in a similar manner like David Purley did that day. In fact I believe all contributors to this thread would have giving up the race to save a friend and teammate if they were in that situation, especially after viewing the photos and films of Williamson, Revson, Bandini etc. RIP Roger, David tried as hard as he could, I wish 3 or so more drivers pulled over and tried as hard as they could as well. |

Here is the clearest footage and top to bottom larger screen clip of Roger Willamson and David Purley in my files The reason im posting a bunch of Williamson clips is because I found another Williamson folder with a ton of videos and pics that I thought was deleted |

Re: Indy/Formula One: Fatal and Non Fatal Crash Photos (Stop Motion, Color, B&W)
Nicknamed The Burnout King, Troy Critchley generated worldwide headlines in June 2007, when his Corvette skidded out of control at the 'Cars for Kids' charity event in the town of Selmer, Tennessee, and hurtled into the crowd. Six people lost their lives and scores were injured. Troy was taken to court and was given 18 months of probation and a suspended one-year jail sentence. He now faces a huge civil lawsuit.
