Re: Indy/Formula One: Fatal and Non Fatal Crash Photos (Stop Motion, Color, B&W)

oh nooo.... vid nope workey......
or is it just me
I just get the video not found or access denied message...
Is it still doing it?

I see it fine and it plays all the way through

If the access denied/video not found message keeps popping up, hit refresh and instead of hitting the play button in the middle of the screen hit the play button on the bottom tracking bar

Its a trick I have used at least 18 million times

If that dont work I can upload it again

Your posts have been amazing bro, just the vintage stuff I had in mind for this thread

I have been so caught up in this Smiley Folder(s) looking for a couple things and matching stuff up and trying to get it all into one place, that I have not been able to comment or add my two cents to your posts

I havent even had time to hit the thank button on your recent gems, and the list I had going of drivers/crashes you posted that I was going to add pics to is super outdated already

When im done with this Smiley deal I will go back through the thread and start posting any rare or un-seen pics from those crashes

Amazing job partner

Re: Indy/Formula One: Fatal and Non Fatal Crash Photos (Stop Motion, Color, B&W)

I think I see what your talking about, looks to me to be looking toward medical officer? If Im right ....wow, that is some stomach turning stuff right there...And I work in an operating theatre, trauma doesnt usually effect me.. r.i.p.
Im positive that you see it

Its horrible to even think about that kind of trauma, even though he died instantly I still cant shake the thought of Smiley feeling it at all, even if it was for only a millisecond

For other members who are having trouble seeing it, look for the different color shade where the top of his head was scalped

Thats what helped me find it years ago

Re: Indy/Formula One: Fatal and Non Fatal Crash Photos (Stop Motion, Color, B&W)

I'm pretty usually observant to smaller details, yet, each one of the "whatcha see here?" pics has thrown me for a loop.

Now, I *think* I see what you're talking about in the pic of the doctor checking for a pulse. I've tried imagining it from different angles, and I keep getting the same thing. I don't want to guess it out loud, for the benefit of those still looking at.

I'm looking forward to that clip you mentioned, that shows the different angles, etc.

Re: Indy/Formula One: Fatal and Non Fatal Crash Photos (Stop Motion, Color, B&W)

Its found, but im running it through movie maker to make some tweaks here and there

And the first time you see it, its shocking, then you dont believe its his face

Then when you look real close and all you can make out is his smashed nose swelling eye sockets (with eyes bulging out) the rest of his face and head is just looking like its starting to swell up bad, and the top of his head is damaged, but as far as pinpoint clues go the best one I ever got was look at his racing suit closely, look at the patch decals, can you see any of them? Can you place them? would his suit cover any of his face? Is his balaclava still over his head all the way?

Think of those things while looking

Re: Indy/Formula One: Fatal and Non Fatal Crash Photos (Stop Motion, Color, B&W)

The French Rouen curcuit played host to the F2 Championship on 22-24 June 1973. On arrival it was discovered that large sections of the armco barrier surrounding the track were not properly secure and could be lifted by hand back and forth by six inches.

Tragically nothing was done about it and when Scottish driver Gerry Birrell in his Chevron suffered a front-tyre failure at 155mph entering Six Frères corner he plowed head long on into it.

Instead of deflecting the car the barrier lifted allowing it to pass underneath decapitating the driver.

It was rumoured that Birrell was being considered for the number two seat at the Tyrrell F1 team for 1974...

Re: Indy/Formula One: Fatal and Non Fatal Crash Photos (Stop Motion, Color, B&W)

This is a bizarre photo from an F3 race at the Blandford track in the UK on August 1949. The curcuit was laid out around a military camp and Major Peter Braid was racing his F3 Cooper.

The car flew over the crest at Engineers bend, the fastest corner on the circuit, and lost control hitting a bus stop and a small tree before coming to rest on the roof of the guardhouse.
