Re: Indy/Formula One: Fatal and Non Fatal Crash Photos (Stop Motion, Color, B&W)
This is the only other picture I could find of Forrest-Greene Its a heavily doctored photo, super sensationalized with facial expressions airbrushed in Back then almost every wire photo was doctored for strong effect I wish I had the real one |

Re: Indy/Formula One: Fatal and Non Fatal Crash Photos (Stop Motion, Color, B&W)
Jochen Rindt arrived at Monza the Italian GP of 1970 just a step away from winning the championship after winning five races. He took his Lotus 72 out on the fifth of September and something broke on the car which veered at enormous speed into barrier. The front of the car was completely ripped off as the low nose of the Lotus went under the barrier and caught on one of the supports. Jochen didn't wear the crotch strap part of his racing harness as he found it uncomfortable but due to the this when the redal box was ripped out he 'submarined' down into the car cutting his throat on the upper part of the harness. Jochen would have died very quickly of blood loss. He is the only F1 driver to have won the World Championship posthumously (after his death). World F1 Champion 1970, six F1 race wins, Le Mans 24 hour winner 1965, the king of F2 racing and amazingly quick in what ever he drove, the late, great, Jochen Rindt. Why is it all my favorite drivers seem to have died in crashes.....? |

Re: Indy/Formula One: Fatal and Non Fatal Crash Photos (Stop Motion, Color, B&W)
A few pics of the aftermath of Patrick Depailler's fatal testing crash at the German Hockenheim track on the first of August 1980. When team members who where in the pits suddenly heard the loud scream of the Alfa V12 stop they were worried and word soon came back that Patrick had 'had a big one'. It was probably a suspension which broke sending the driver into the barrier at high speed. He would have died instantly. He won the Monaco GP in 1978 and Spanish GP 1979. |

Re: Indy/Formula One: Fatal and Non Fatal Crash Photos (Stop Motion, Color, B&W)
Gutts explains it better then I can http://www.documentingreality.com/fo...33/#post902266 I always re-size my smaller pics so all members can easily download them after clicking the picture However some pics are just destroyed when you increase the size, and if thats all I have then I would rather post it as an embedded pic then not post it all And I still try everything I can to increase the size down the the last KB before pixilation takes over Good question When I first joined that was one of the first things I didnt understand and used to get pissed clicking on embedded pics like 100 times |
