Re: Indy/Formula One: Fatal and Non Fatal Crash Photos (Stop Motion, Color, B&W)
Just found some more Senna and Ratzy pics tucked away A couple of the pics of Sennas crash are very clear The last pic of Ratzy in death was taken a couple seconds after the first one at a higher angle and clearer focus |

Re: Indy/Formula One: Fatal and Non Fatal Crash Photos (Stop Motion, Color, B&W)
Here is some amazing footage of Mario Andretti attempting a comeback after being retired for 9 years During practice he hit some debris and went super airborne and completing 6 full backflips The footage is horrible and shaky because it was taken from a Helicopter News Crew sneaking in footage high above the massive Indianapolis Motor Speedway However the slo-mo replay is decent enough to drop your jaw Warning!Do not read below this line if you have any children in the room or if you have ever become ill from reading a horrific injury report The extent of Andretti's horrifyingly severe injuries is hard to describe in a kind or gentle way, so im just going to lay it out there He had a 2 1/2 inch scratch under his chin that resembled a minor shaving cut Seriously, just a tiny little scratch, not one other injury, no soreness, no headache, didnt even get the wind knocked out of him |

Re: Indy/Formula One: Fatal and Non Fatal Crash Photos (Stop Motion, Color, B&W)
I have at least 20-30 more pictures of Tom Pryce crash I just have to find them I also have 3 daughters all under 10 years old and while they have their own limited user account on our computer, I never log out. I just fear jumping in the shower and them asking mom if they can play a game on the computer and they click on a minimized folder and start looking at the pics thinking its pics of them and me and my wife They just dont need to exposed to anything of that nature at their age. When they are old enough to understand then I wont hide or sugarcoat anything That is why I have pics and files all over, just trying to hide some, and tuck some away, tons of subfolders and such that I have forgot about over time The cool part is when I hit a big very very old folder when we either had just our first child or no child at all and I hid nothing (except porn from the wife) and just threw everything in "Racing Accidents#1" folder As soon as I find the other Tom Pryce pics consider them posted the second after I find them |

Thanks a ton for the Andretti clip, I never knew about that incident...great footage. Did you see the "chunk" of debris that Hinchcliffe ran over in Detroit this year? Nothing like a big 'ol piece of concrete on the track! Not a serious crash but enough to take him out of the race.

Re: Indy/Formula One: Fatal and Non Fatal Crash Photos (Stop Motion, Color, B&W)
The Andretti clip is awesome and most racing fans dont even know that there is footage of it I think thats because he wasnt hurt, if he had died or been seriously injured it would be the most watched video ever I dont know what the debris was, all I know is the lap before Kenny Brack got into some kind of accident (I cant remember if he hit the wall solo or another car that was running practice laps as well) and his car rolled off the track to the infield I guess Mario had no spotters high up in the stands and his son Micheal was on radio with him but you and I know how huge IMS is, for one person at ground level to be responsible for everything even in practice is impossible So whatever it was it was a huge piece And talk about Airborne, he has to be 20-30 feet above the catch fence And I no longer watch Indycar or any type of racing, I stopped a couple years after Senna died,so I have never even seen a clip of Hinchcliffes accident |

Re: Indy/Formula One: Fatal and Non Fatal Crash Photos (Stop Motion, Color, B&W)
Your doing a great job with this thread my friend... I love motor racing particularly from the sixties and early seventies. A hell of a lot of drivers died and while some like Bandini and Williamson where captured with tv and photos others like the fatal crashes involving Piers Courage and Jim Clark we know very little about. Its interesting to try to cut though the rumour and find out really what happened, and these photos and video can help do that. Although some of the pictures are not pleasant they all tell an important story of went wrong for that particular driver. It may have taken a while but these have made racing safer in the end. Cevert's photo is horrible, basically cut in two, Revson's were truely shocking. I've seen many photos of Jo Schlesser's fatal crash in 1968, his Honda upside down on fire, they pull out his charred body which lies in the road as other cars pass. It was certainly a very different time. Keep up the good work. |
