29 year old woman in Indonesia hung herself sometime during the night. Her body was discovered by her sister, when she stopped by in the morning to borrow a car. She went immediately for the police. Of course, she was already dead when they arrived. Estimated time of death was about 5 hours prior.

Fairly detailed analysis and inventory of the scene was provided by investigators:

She was found hanging from the central ceiling beam, using a thin black cloth cord. It was 186cm long.

She had used a box speaker to stand on while affixing the noose around her neck, then kicked it backwards to hang herself. It was found just beneath the body.
The chair you see in the photo was moved there by scene personnel to cut the body down.

There was also a 102cm strip of batik cloth found hanging nearby. It is thought that she tried to use it as a noose first, but failed somehow, and rigged up the thinner, longer rope instead.

The ME logged the following clothing when he performed the autopsy:
1.Black and white short-sleeved shirt
2. Black cotton brassiere
3. Levis brand jean shorts
4. Grey cotton panties

The underpants and jeanshorts were noted to be soiled with urine and feces, which is very common in hanging deaths.

The postmortem noted no additional injuries aside from the ligature and a minor injury to the tongue where she bit it while asphyxiating. Cause of death was ruled to be suicidal hanging.

At around 4.30am on 30th March 2018, the police were informed of the death. So, I'm assuming, if L.F. had been hanging there for around 5 hours, she killed herself right at the end of the 29th.

Actually, Indonesia's crime scene (especially suicides for some reason) reporting is typically the most detailed I come across in my searches. Mind you, this write-up was especially detailed even for Indonesia, though in fairness I did gather info from three different sources and collate data.

It is not at all unusual to see a lot of specific details (both about the scene and about the corpse) published in Indonesian papers/blogs, though it is getting a bit more circumspect than it used to be.

Many other countries do report this level of detail to the media in the interest of public disclosure, but the newspapers tend to omit the more visceral information.

Here in the US, most of the information presented in this write-up is typically available as part of the autopsy report and scene investigator's notes, but only about 12 or 13 States these days allow unfettered access to this information. Used to be about 40 that disseminated it upon request, but many States have moved away from a policy of transparency in this field over the past decade.
