In the early afternoon of Wednesday, a fireworks factory exploded in the rural municipality of Ibateguara, Brazil.

Two people were seriously injured, one of them died in the hospital.

The factory was unregistered/illegal, but the police have already identified the owner. The police think that the explosion happened due to a spark. According to the Fire Department, the explosion occurred in a house where part of the roof fell on the victims of the accident.

Two people were working on site at the time of the explosion. Witnesses said, that they heard a great noise only at the time of the explosion, and said they did not know there was a factory there, believed that it functioned as a barn. The Brazilian Army, responsible for overseeing the factories of fireworks, said that there are no such plants with active record.

The command warned that if someone is making fireworks in Alagoas, will be committing the crimes set out in Law 10.826, known as "disarmament law," under penalty of four to eight years in prison and a fine.
