My dad saw something like this happen---he's disabled and walks with a cane. He hobbled as fast as he could, and no one else was around to yell for help. (an the ole coot doesn't have a cell phone). By the time he got to the car, there were other people there and sirens on the way...but it was too late, no one could get to her in time. He stood there and watched when the fire dept. put out the fire. He was disgusted by what he saw and hobbled away. The next day, he read about it in the paper. The victim was a lady he knew. Poor dad was upset for months over the knowledge he helplessly witnessed a lady he knew from high school get incinerated.
