Re: Horses Don't Fly
WTF!!!!?????? The guy took a HIT!!!! Or 20. I can't imagine what happened....the horse isn't wearing a bridle or saddle, so he couldn't have been riding him. Looks like the guy and the horse may have been hit by a truck, and the horse's saddlery broke off-maybe in the street? (Ok, well, I guess I CAN imagine what happened) And both of the horse's hind legs are broken--you can see that in the second pic. The horse's abdomen in pic 2 is HUGELY distended, which makes me think he ruptured something and he bled out into his peritoneal cavity. That can happen from blunt force trauma--and they die pretty quick. The guy may have been riding him along the street and the horse may have spooked at a truck and ran right in front of it. They often ***** at loud, large, or unusual vehicles and things...so.....maybe the horse spooked right into the truck, hit both the horse and the guy, the horse was bumped into the side of the road (in the concrete ditch) then he thrashed in pain, his 800-1000 pound body trampling the rider to smithereens against the concrete as he scrambled on broken legs while bleeding out internally. Yep. I bet that's what happened. That's why I NEVER ride my horse around traffic or trails on the side of the road. Horses are very easily spooked and are then in a temorarily uncontrollable flight mode until the threat is removed...or reasoned with. Horses run first, think later. |
