Here's her mummified body, as found in the steamer trunk that served as her coffin for several years. Notice how the styrofoam packing peanuts (still present) and Philadelphia newspapers (removed and not visible) turned parts of the corpse green. After Maddux's body was found and Einhorn was freed on bail by Seagram Liquor heir Barbara Bronfman, Ira Einhorn was a fugitive from justice for many years, and was located in France under an assumed name in the 1990s with help from the TV show "America's Most Wanted", which, indeed, he was one of. He was extradited to the US in 2001 and is serving life without the possibility of parole in Houtzdale Prison in the state of Pennsylvania. |

Here's her skull. Apparently the remaining flesh fell off en route to the morgue, or the coroner removed it.

Here's her body as viewed from the side after having been removed from the trunk. Almost looks like a dead deer partially eaten by coyotes and mountain lions, doesn't it?

And last but not least, here's the body as it looked when first removed from the steamer trunk. I seem to remember reading that the coroner and witnessing police officers had to smoke cigars during the autopsy due to how bad the smell was, but that may well have been another case, seeing as how much true crime I read. |
